The content of bachelor thesis is the analysis of avalaible sources of Nemsova. Bachelor thesis describes map data and their content, which is suitable for evaluation of historical development of the city. The available maps shows the city´s territory from the period of military mapping to the present day and captures a range of approximately 250 years. They describe cartographic methods of expression and methods of representation of topographic map content. Based on these documents, the city development was subsequently recostructed. The result is the case study evaluating the development of Nemšová and land use development in Nemšová. The final study is supported by available maps bases, tables and graphs.

This bachelor work deals with the research of extinct water bodies of South Moravia from the oldest mapped history till today. It analyzes their origin, development during the time and their extinct, and the gained findings illustrates on selected water bodies. It analyses also the restoration possibilities of selected lakes and ponds.

This work is about processing of historical maps, especially their digitizing and vectorization. The main focuses of this project are maps from the second historical military mapping and finding methods useful for removing texts from these maps.

Making a historical map set of battle at Chlumec 1813

Goal of this thesis is to make map set of battle at Chlumec (near Ústí nad Labem), where Napoleon's general Vandamme was defeated by retreating coalition armies at the end of August 1813. Main data source are old map of battle at Chlumec, gained from Map repository of Charles University, and layer of contour line from ZABAGED. After evaluating methods of making historic maps process for making maps of battles is designed. Several maps of the course of battle are made where only position of soldiers in time is different and also several maps of some commanders' views in particular moments of battle are made. Based on the finished maps evaluation and discussion are made, if battle could end otherwise or why it took place the way how we know it.

Splash dams in the Krkonoše (Giant) Mountains - the past and the present

The idea of renovation of former small water reservoirs (splash dams) that were used while log driving is coming to the fore in connection with an effort to gradually increase water retention capacity and to reduce runoff variability in headstream areas. On the basis of study of historical sources and literature and own field research this bachelor's thesis describes causes of origin and period of origin of the Giant Mountain's splash dams and deals with the function and the location of the splash dams in the field. The thesis also focuses on their current state. A total of 22 Giant Mountain's splash dams built mainly in the second half of the 16th century were traced. Half of them were accurately located, the rest of the splash dams were located with an accuracy of watercourses. In the thesis there are 6 diverse localities described in detail, selected from the accurately located splash dams e.g. on the base of degree of the splash dam's preservation or degree of the anthropogenic influence on the watercourse.
